You may think that athletic fashion means hoodies and sweat pants, but it does not stop at that. This Olympic year, being sporty means oozing sex appeal as well, as designers look to water sports for inspiration. Scuba diving in particular, seems to be a strong influence this Spring/Summer.

Sheer and Mullet – gaining popularity since last Spring/Summer, these two skirt trends continue to win hearts this year. The maxi versions still reign, but some designers, like Marc Jacobs and Jason Wu, featured updated versions for Spring 2012 where the hemlines are higher than last year’s. Regardless of the lengths however, sheer and mullet skirts are the perfect spring to summer transitional pieces that can either be dressed up for the red carpet or down for the streets.
